Iris was sitting in a crowded street underneath a window of a shop all alone. She had on a brown cloak and had the hood up. Next to her was a bucket, hoping that people would drop some money in it for her to go and buy some food. The bucket was empty, however. Iris was looking at the locket she was wearing, a silver heart-shaped locket with the pictures of her parents and Hela inside.
Iris heard the sound of change landing into her bucket. She looked into the bucket and saw about five dollars' worth of money. She looked up and saw a boy about her age with short, chopped blond hair look down on her. He was smiling, "You're welcome. But you don't need the bucket, do you?" He held out his hand, "Come on, I'll take you to my home. You won't be alone anymore."
Iris grabbed the bucket, and then grabbed the boy's hand. The boy helped Iris up. As she was getting up, her hood came down because of the breeze of how fast she was getting up.
"Hey, what a pretty face! What's your name?" The boy asked.
"Iris…" She said, "And you?"
The boy smiled once more, "Akio! It's nice to meet you, Iris!"
Iris smiled back. She was glad that somebody actually cared for her, now that her parents and Hela were gone. "Say, what were you doing out here, anyway?" Akio asked.
"Um…my parents died…I don't have any family that lives anywhere near here, and I don't have any way of contacting them…they died a year ago…" Iris said.
"Aw, that's really bad…I'm so sorry for your loss." Akio said.
Iris shook her head a little, "It's alright, I'm used to it now. Now, how come you helped me out?" Iris asked.
"Well…you looked lonely. I don't like people who are lonely. I'm always one that helps those in need!"
Iris had to process through what Akio just said. Hearing him say the words over and over again, she realized that she was the one in need of someone. Desperately. She was tired of being all alone, and glad that Akio was the one who came to her in her time of need.
"Th-Thank you…" She said quietly.
