This year was my last year of large group speech. Ever.

Once again, I was in radio news, what else would I choose?

Our DISTRICTS contest was today.

The judges treated the teams from my town like we were at STATE NOT DISTRICTS!!

My radio team received a Division II instead of a Division I.

I don't get to go to State contest for the 3rd time in a row.

The freaking judge said that "she couldn't hear our recording." She even said that I was too quiet. =/ Look lady, I know that when I speak naturally, I am a quiet speaker. BUT WHEN I RECORD I KNOW I RAISE MY VOICE, ESPECIALLY WITH LOUDER LINES, WHICH I NEVER HOLD BACK ON.

I SWEAR, IT'S LIKE THE ONLY THINGS THAT JUDGE LIKED ABOUT OUR BROADCAST WAS :icontatayxkakashi22:'s RUSSIAN ACCENT AND THE COMMERCIAL.

By looking at all of the other scores from other schools, it's obvious that the judges were freaking biased. There were even times where members from my school noticed that there were people wearing attire that had school names on it, WHICH IS NOT ALLOWED OTHERWISE THE GROUP THAT WAS PERFORMING SHOULD'VE BEEN DISQUALIFIED, WHICH DID NOT HAPPEN.

THE JUDGES SHOULD ALSO NOT EVEN KNOW WHICH SCHOOL HAD WHICH SCHOOL "ID" SO THAT THEY WOULDN'T BE BIASED ABOUT DIFFERENT SCHOOLS AT ALL.

There was one school that got all Division I's across the board, everybody else had a bunch of II's. There was one girl that was a "mime" that looked at her school, which was a I, and wasn't jumping up and down like everybody else. Later on, a guy I know said that he heard one girl go, "Did we get our I yet?"

So many of our groups we know we did well, but we all received a II instead. :iconinudoragon23:'s mime group apparently "didn't use enough of the stage space" NO, THEY USED ALL OF IT. And they apparently "didn't have enough energy" THEY USED THE NECESSARY AMOUNT OF ENERGY IN THE NECESSARY PLACES. Oh, and one person gave one smirk, and he deducted points off of their overall score...

This is ridiculous. Extremely ridiculous. They should've hired FAIR judges from different states so that they wouldn't know a thing about any of the schools competing and they wouldn't be so biased.

This was the most unfair year out of all four years that I've been in speech.

Only six out of about fifteen of our teams have the chance to go to state.

A different teammate said that even our coach looked like she was about to cry. We all worked so hard.

That's it. Rant over.

Now excuse me while I go and cry myself...

Don't hate me or anything, out of the eight groups that we had, there are six that are going to state tomorrow... I felt like we were judged fairly, except in improv that one seemed to be a little skewed from the start.

I don't hate you. It just seemed that all the judges knew who went to which school and judged based off of which school you went to. The judges are not supposed to know which group belonged to which group.

Did your group make it to state? If so, you can ask her to do it there xDD

I dont understand this at all. I was sure that Annie would get a II and our radio would get a I because i was so proud of it. We really should hire judges from another state or something because I have a feeling that they knew we were norwalk kids based on our actions and stuff, or something. This wasn't fair at all. Also kids who were sick mustve gone to their competitions even though they werent in shape, because I got very sick after the contest...

Tay, I knew Annie would get a I rating. You girls are frickin awesome at that!
I really wish I could have seen other schools' "Division I" performances to see if those ratings were true. If not, then those judges were frickin biased!
I think I might have caught a little something from it too. Either that, or I'm just extremely tired after having 2 contests in a row, then the next day sitting around doing practically nothing.

Clarke was the school that got straight I's. Even if their stuff wasn't good at all.
